Pegasus Tires

Many people today shake their head in confusion when you bring up the name Pegasus Tires, but this brief history will clear up any confusion as to the company’s ownership and origins.  Here is a detailed overview of Pegasus and where the company is today.

When most people think of Pegasus Tires, they immediately bring to mind the decades old logo for Mobil oil, the red winged horse inside a white circle.  Many people consequently believe Pegasus Tires to be a subsidiary of the ExxonMobil Corporation, but the brand is actually owned by parent company Qingdao Golden Pegasus Industrial Trading Co, which was established only ten years ago in 2003.  The company, an LLC, is owned and operated in China and exports between 81 and 100% of all items.

Pegasus Tires manufactures and exports a wide range of tires to include the TBR (Truck and Bus Radial Tire), PCR (Passenger Car Radial Tire), LTR (Light Truck Radial Tire), ORT (Off Road Tire), and more.    With this wide product range, Pegasus reaches customers in over 40okay countries and has good customer reviews across the board.  While not the highest end tires on the market, Pegasus products are made with value in mind to establish long- term business relationships to ensure steady market share with individual customers and business customers alike.

Most recently, Pegasus Tires have added a range of all steel radial truck tires that are specific to American markets to their scope of products.  New options on heavy equipment tires are also some of the newest products put out by Pegasus in an effort to expand their market share in North America.  The tubeless options are heavier duty than that of their previous offerings and are said to last longer, making them a much better value overall.
Pegasus has also developed specialty tires for niche application such as mining and specialized construction duties.   There is a line that has been developed with reinforced tread patterns that make it capable of carrying extremely heavy loads across paved and unpaved surfaces without damaging the road surface or the vehicle’s wheels.  These mixed surface, heavy load bearing tires have great applicability in the construction field and are becoming more commonly used in the US.

Recent developments in passenger vehicle all weather, all condition tires have allowed Pegasus to gain a bigger market share worldwide as well.  Applying this technology to a light truck tire has also given the company an even greater foothold.

While Pegasus isn’t associated with the well- known ExxonMobil, the value inherent in the brand certainly still applies.  When buying from Pegasus, you can rest assured that you will get a reliable product with the full backing of a worldwide company behind it.
